Martha Stewart Coming Home Poncho
March 18, 2005 There is one thing that you should know, I love to crochet. I am not old, it is a hobby I picked up at the age of twelve and thoroughly enjoy doing. Everyone in my family and my husband make fun of me for this, so if you chuckle-it's fine. It seems funny to me that the only thing people seems to care about lately is Martha Stewarts poncho. In the last few days my sisters, cousins, and sister-in-laws have been calling, "So did you see that poncho that Martha Stewart was wearing?" Of course I did. Do they think that I live under a rock or something?
As soon as I saw the poncho I admit that I began to look for the pattern. The New York Post wrote that the actual poncho was made for Martha by an inmate, Xiomaro Hernandez at the Alderson prison facility. In fact Lion Brand Yarn has promised to donate needles and yarn to the facility for her creativity to inspire others to begin to how long does weed stay in your system crochet and knit. I began my poncho and I am now busy working on several more for my lovely family and friends-who now see a benefit for my hobby. Afterall, who says that crocheting is just for older women?
For those of you who are looking for the crochet or knitting pattern I found that is the best way to go. They have great deals on yarn and sometimes free shipping coupons! Simply click on Project Ideas and it will take you to the pattern which is easy to download and print.
If you think that learning to crochet or knit is just out of your realm-there is also. There are some top quality replicas of this now famous "Coming Home" Poncho. It is also being called the Welcome Home Poncho, Prison Poncho, and Marthas Poncho-so take a look at
Have fun and enjoy. Below I have listed the homespun yarn that is available at . Regency is the color that Martha Poncho was "made" out of...just so you know. There are many guess as to what yarn it is-so far Lion Brand and Martha have agreed on Homespun Regency. Have a Great Day!

Well, it's almost time for Martha to get her ankle monitor off! Her schedule due date is August 10-I'll bet she is excited. After all we have all heard about the extreme discomfort that the monitor has been in her life. But if I were Martha, I wouldn't be surprised if she had a three week extension. It seems that he probation officer is looking into reports (from the monitor) that prove Martha was out for more than the 48 hours a week that is allotted for grocery shopping, work, church, and medical appointments. So maybe it will be September or later on this month, we'll just have to wait.
